Murray Equipment is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to assist with the financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of accounting experience, CPA Preferred, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and general ledger management, and will be detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and capable of optimizing financial processes while working closely with leadership. This role will be responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial planning, and reporting to drive profitability, efficiency, and strategic decision-making. This is a full-time in office position, Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with a requirement to commute or relocate to Fort Wayne, IN.
- Develops and maintains accounting systems for the company.
- Maintains books of accounts and related materials.
- Plans, directs and coordinates accounting and tax matters.
- Reconciles the company's bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Prepares all financial reports, with a multitude of accounting computer programs, as required to comply with internal and external reporting requirements.
- Monitors expenses throughout the year and confers with appropriate personnel regarding discrepancies or variances.
- Reviews records for fixed assets or liabilities.
- Reviews and verifies payroll information to payroll processing service.
- Provides support for the Human Resource functions of the company.
- Provides training, insight and coaching to all employees regarding the best practices for classifying and processing and reporting financial information.
- Coordinates and manages all financial and insurance audits.
- Reviews the reconciliation process each month.
- Assesses and maintains effective internal controls.
- Oversees regulatory reporting.
- Supports tax planning and compliance.
- Provides management with information vital to decision-making.
- Plans, schedules and distributes incoming work to appropriate individuals.
- Develops and maintains an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and review of staff.
- Provides guidance and direction to accounting staff to assist them in their professional development.
- Assists in scheduling time off of Finance Department staff.
