Murray Equipment, Inc. is seeking a qualified individual for a career opportunity in Servcie & Assembly. This person will be a dedicated team player, responsible for providing customer service by trouble shooting equipment and providing repair and warranty services in a complete, timely and quality manner.

We are looking for a mechanically inclined, customer-service-focused Service Technician to support inspection, troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and testing of liquid handling and metering equipment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Automotive technicians, diesel mechanics, maintenance technicians, service advisors, and mechanically inclined problem-solvers

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Documents incoming goods for service and warranty evaluation according to established return goods authorization procedures.
  • Provides for the safe handling materials according to established procedures and applicable laws.
  • Determines validity of customer complaints, including warranty claims, via customer contact and inquiry, blueprint interpretations and/or inspection of returned goods, collecting data and generating reports.
  • Determines the labor and materials that will be required to service goods returned for warranty or repair.
  • Provides a timely and accurate estimate or quotation to the customer as required.
  • Provides feedback to customers, Territory Managers, Purchasing Agents and others regarding the nature of products and satisfaction of the customer with their service and warranty experience.
  • Provides customer support with questions and troubleshooting regarding our products and services.
  • Pulls required parts from inventory according to established procedures.
  • Completes service work by using hand and power tools, crimping, welding, pipefitting, drilling, sawing, grinding, testing and other procedures.
  • Tests and verifies repairs to assure that company, customer, and regulatory specifications are met.
  • Uses inspection gauges such as micrometers, calipers, vacuum testing, and calibration equipment.
  • Records labor and parts used in repair and warranty work on documents and in to the computer system according to established procedures.
  • Monitors related supplies and requisitions necessary additions.
  • Performs spot checks of products to ensure adherence to approved quality standards.
  • Maintains all tools and equipment in the service area.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and safety procedures.
  • Maintains clean, orderly and safe work areas at all times.
  • Submits all documentation in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Assists in other areas of operations including shipping, receiving, customer counter and fabrication & assembly.
  • Provides customer and user support for all company products, including trouble shooting, training, processing sales orders.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

  • Prior mechanical, industrial, automotive, or equipment repair experience required

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and be on your feet most of the day

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prior mechanical and industrial work-related experience required.
