One question we hear regularly is: What is Murray Equipment’s relationship with ICS Controls?
The short answer is simple:
ICS Controls IS Murray Automation.
ICS Controls are engineered, manufactured, programmed, and supported by Murray Equipment, Inc. (MEI) from our Fort Wayne, Indiana headquarters. The ICS Controls name is a brand—not a separate automation company.
Why the ICS Controls Brand Name?
As demand for Murray automation technology grew, other companies began approaching us about reselling and distributing our controls.
To support that expanded network, we introduced the ICS Controls brand. The name gives distributors, resellers, and OEM partners a dedicated controls brand they can confidently offer alongside their own equipment and services.
While the name changed, the technology and the team behind it did not.
ICS Controls are still engineered, manufactured, programmed, and supported by Murray Equipment. And as the ICS network has grown, our controls have been put to work in more facilities, applications, and operating environments—giving our engineering teams even greater insight into the needs of the fertilizer industry.

MEI’s ICS Controls integrate seamlessly with other equipment providers, extending Murray automation beyond liquid fertilizer and crop protection operations.
ICS Controls Are MEI Engineered
Across the Murray family of businesses, more than 30 mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers work together to solve real-world challenges for agricultural retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and terminal operators.
That collaboration is an important part of what makes ICS Controls different.
Our automation engineers aren't developing controls in isolation. They work alongside engineers who design the pumps, meters, piping systems, blending equipment, loadout systems, and other equipment those controls operate.
The result is automation designed around how fertilizer facilities actually work.
ICS Controls Are MEI Manufactured
ICS Controls are manufactured at Murray Equipment's Fort Wayne headquarters in our UL 508A control panel facility.
Rather than building many of our standard controls only after an order is placed, we maintain inventory of key products and components to help support faster shipment.
That inventory supports both direct MEI customers and the distributors and resellers that offer ICS Controls throughout the industry.
ICS Controls Are MEI Programmed
Our controls engineering and software teams develop and support the software behind ICS touch-screen controls and ICS ControlPro®.
Many ICS products are designed to be user-configurable, giving facilities the flexibility to adapt their controls as operations change.
For more complex applications, our team can configure and customize automation around the specific requirements of a facility—from individual dispensing and injection systems to large, integrated fertilizer operations.
ICS Controls Are MEI Supported
Our relationship with customers doesn't end when a control ships.
MEI has always taken a long-term approach to product support. Many legacy Murray automation systems remain in operation today, and our team continues to support older equipment whenever reasonably possible.
That philosophy is simple: we want customers to get the greatest possible value and service life from their investment.
It is the same customer-first approach that has guided Murray Equipment since 1950.

Why Choose MEI's ICS Controls?
Versatility
ICS Controls are designed to support a wide range of fertilizer and chemical operations, including:
Liquid fertilizer handling and blending
Dry fertilizer automation
Crop protection chemical handling
Liquid fertilizer and chemical manufacturing
Agricultural terminals
Product dispensing and injection
Bulk loadout and receiving
Solutions range from simple single-product preset controls to complex automation capable of managing multiple systems, products, loadout points, and locations.
Operators can interact with ICS systems through control panels, touchscreen interfaces, desktop applications, mobile devices, and other HMIs depending on the requirements of the operation.
For facilities requiring connectivity beyond the plant floor, ICS ControlPro® can help connect automation with business systems and ERP platforms.

Fertilizer Expertise Built Into the Controls
Murray Equipment has been handling liquids since 1950.
Over those decades, customer-driven innovation has helped shape both the equipment we manufacture and the automation technology that controls it. MEI was an early pioneer in fertilizer automation and continues to develop new technologies around the changing needs of agricultural retailers and manufacturers.
That experience matters.
We understand fertilizer handling because we design the systems themselves. By combining that process knowledge with controls and software engineering, ICS automation can be developed around the operational realities of the facility rather than treating automation as an isolated component.
That expertise is built into every ICS control.
Murray Equipment has been at the forefront of controls and automation from the beginning. Murray automation and ICS controls have come a long way since those early days.
Backed by a Trusted Partner
Choosing an automation platform is a long-term decision.
Facilities need more than technology. They need confidence that the company behind that technology will still be there to support it in the future.
Murray Equipment has built its reputation by taking a long-term approach to customer relationships. That includes accurate and transparent quoting, continued support for legacy products whenever possible, growing online technical resources, and direct access to knowledgeable support personnel.
Our diversified family of businesses and more than 75 years of operation also provide the stability required to think beyond the next sale.
Our philosophy hasn't changed much since Murray Equipment was founded:
Take care of the customer. Help solve their challenges. Build equipment that lasts. And support it as far into the future as possible.
That philosophy is behind every ICS Controls product.
